The Way Forward

To be successful in these challenging times, our focus needs to be on:

• Face to face voter engagement – 2020 showed us that phone calls, texts, and digital advertising aren’t sufficient for us to win. There is nothing as effective as old fashioned, face to face voter contact – whether it’s us knocking on doors or going to where people congregate.
• Voter registration – This has proven to be the most successful way to increase the Democratic base.
• Voter protection – We need to ensure that we have Democrats working the polls, poll watchers to report problems with Republican election workers and Republican poll watchers trying to intimidate voters, and voter protection hot lines.
• Continuing to expand our base of activists – It’s not enough for us just to ask people to vote. We need to expand our core group of activists to enhance our capability to reach voters directly. We do this through active, targeted communications and events.
